John Austin教授简介
Prof. John Austin is a well known scientist in middle atmosphere research. He received his
first degree in 1978 in mathematics and physics from Cambridge University, UK, and his PhD
in 1987 also from Cambridge University. From 1978 to 2003 he worked at the UK Meteorological
Office and is currently working at the NOAA Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Lab (GFDL),
in Princeton, NJ, USA. From 2005-2008 he was also an editor for JGR-Atmospheres.
So far he has published 80 papers and those papers have been cited over a thousand times.
His current research interests include:
1. The simulation and behaviour of the Antarctic ozone hole, the timing of ozone recovery.
2. The impact of changing greenhouse gas concentrations on stratospheric processes.
3. The interactions between chemistry and climate and between the stratosphere and troposphere.
